A tuesday miscellany...
I was a busy boy on Youtube last night. This was all prompted by attending the Calexico gig at the roundhouse on sunday and catching an albuquerque band called Beirut doing the support. They were unbelievable, so i decided to check em out further on youtube which triggered a meandering surf frenzy, the results of which you can see below... phew!

So, who is behind the site?
Myself and Brant (as you can see we are not very good at keeping our blogs current!) are two geeks who work in IT for a financial services company in London. I'm a Paddy and he's a Yank and we've know each other for the past six years, ever since i lived in Dallas. InOOl is our hobby - we think it's cool and as it's already useful to the two of us, there's no reason why it shouldn't be useful to the rest of the web community.

So, what's this site all about?
Like all good ideas, InOOl was formulated over a few pints down the pub. Myself and my mate Brant had a discussion one night over three years ago about how frustrating it was constantly missing gigs or finding out about something good that was on in town, only to discover that all the tickets were already sold out. Both of us being web developers by profession, we had the brainwave that it would be a cool idea to set up an events notification service on the web.

So what the heck does InOOl mean anyway?
InOOl is the phonetic spelling of the Irish (Gaelic) term "in úil" as in "cuir in úil" which means to notify or draw attention to, literally "to put in one's eye". We wanted to come up with something snazzy and easy to remember in any language (ala google) and figured this would do the job nicely...

Integrating InOOl events into your website...
Today, I got an email from a mate of mine in Ireland who has integrated the event feeds from InOOl into his website which shows all sorts of info about different localities in ireland.
